Elevating Impact and Creating Purpose at Work
We have had a plethora of interesting discussions around the topic of Service Design through this Meetup – from our first community input session to our expert panel and, most recently, our speed networking event. During this workshop we are going to take a step back and use an SD mindset to evaluate our own lives.
The NYC Service Design Collective is excited to have Joan P. Ball, Ph.D. facilitate a workshop in exploring purpose and (re)imagining impact. The goal is to help participants to uncover opportunities to bring meaning and purpose to their work–even in less than inspiring work environments.
Passion projects are great, but creating a side-hustle is not the only way to connect meaning and purpose to your work. Fortunately, opportunities to bring passion and purpose to work abound – if we’re clear on where the human-centered needs of our workplaces meet the impact we hope to have on the world. This hands-on session is designed to guide participants in an examination of their own contexts to identify opportunities to bring their passions to work within their spheres of influence – even in uninspired work environments. The session will end with small group discussions so participants can network and share ideas.
