Acknowledging, Understanding Power and Privilege in Design
Recent events are a sobering reminder of our country’s long and troubled history of racial inequality and injustice. Design is not immune to this. We have a responsibility to shine light on factors at play within our own space as well as to take action and be better as individuals and a larger community – hopefully influencing our counterparts in other disciplines too.
The SDN NYC is grateful to have George Aye spend an evening sharing his point of view on lessons learned from his work at Greater Good Studio and facilitating intimate discussion about our relationship with power and privilege. We will spend time listening, asking questions and having discussions in small groups leveraging Zoom’s breakout room feature.
